Beyonce & Jay-Z Showed Up Late To The Grammys, Beyonce Makes History As Female Artist With Most Grammys Ever

Beyonce and Jay-Z had a change of heart.

The couple, who originally wasn’t going to the Grammy Awards this year, showed up late – just in time for Beyonce to make history.

The couple became the talk of social media as fans reacted to them popping up just before the show was over.

As previously reported, recording Academy interim chief executive Harvey Mason Jr. told The Los Angeles Times Friday, March 12th, that Beyonce, who received the most nominations this year with nine nods, wouldn’t be attending the event. He expressed his disappointment and said,

“It’s unfortunate, because she’s such a big part of the Recording Academy. We absolutely wish we had her onstage.”

It’s not clear what made Beyonce and Jay-Z change their minds, but Beyonce also made history this year with her wins.

She won four of her nine nominations: Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl”, Rap Song and Rap Performance for “Savage Remix” with Megan Thee Stallion, and R&B Performance for “Black Parade.”

Beyoce now has won a total of 28 Grammys, the most any female artist ever has. She beat out Alison Krauss, who has won 27. She’s also tied with Quincy Jones for the second-most Grammy wins ever.

Conductor Georg Stolti holds the top spot with 31 Grammys.
