Wendy Williams Claims Porsha Williams’ Fiancé Simon Guobadia Has A Straw Hut Overseas, Simon Responds

Wendy Williams recently reacted to Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia‘s wedding plans, but her commentary quickly took a controversial turn.

This past Friday (May 28th), Wendy Williams spoke on Porsha Williams‘ plan to have three weddings with Simon Guobadia. Porsha Williams made this announcement while speaking with her Dish Nation costars, saying:

“[Simon’s] African, so we’re gonna have a native law and custom ceremony, and a regular wedding, and then we’re gonna have another wedding at one of the houses that are out of the country.”

After playing the clip, Wendy Williams began her commentary. She stated:

“Now, don’t be impressed… you know how land is cheap, and houses are cheap, and you can say you have a house but really it’s a trailer on one property in one state, a straw hut in another, and a little something with a shared pool by the community in another? So you ‘have houses’!”

While her comments appeared to be more about trying to downplay Simon Guobadia‘s wealth and properties, Wendy‘s “straw hut” comment was presumably made because Simon is from Africa (specifically Nigeria).

In response to Wendy Williams‘ remarks, Simon Guobadia posted a video to his Instagram story yesterday (June 1st). Simon took a video of his outdoor patio area, showing lavish furniture, architecture, and views. To show that he was responding to Wendy, he captioned his video with a reference to her comment–as well as her catchphrase:

“‘Hut’ living. How you doin’ Porsha?”

Wendy has not yet responded to his post and neither Simon nor Porsha have issued further comments on the matter.
