Cassidy Appears To Call Out Tory Lanez For Copying His Style, Tory Reacts: You’re One Of My Favorite Rappers, What’s The Problem?

Tory Lanez’s freestyle moment garnered lots of attention earlier this week, including a double-take from Cassidy who accused the Talk To Me rapper of jacking his style.

Cassidy shared footage of Tory Lanez freestyling on Funk Flex’s HOT 97 show earlier this week (and back in 2017) and compared it to his own appearance on the same show in the early 2000s. The footage included remarks from fans who alleged Tory Lanez copied Cassidy.

Tory Lanez caught wind of the post and has since responded. He wrote,

“U are one of my favorite rappers Cass…what’s th problem?”

He added,

“I guess this is what happens when u try to pay homage…..the first freestyle I shouted ya name out becuz u did inspire me. The second one I went on YOUR beat. S*** is sad how U old n***as be mad at the young n***as for not showing love then when we do … we get responses like this ….”

In the same freestyle, Tory Lanez appeared to make a subliminal comment about Megan Thee Stallion.

He rapped in part,

“Shoutout to DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, and Lil Baby. What I’m about to say is going to sound a little crazy, but it’s true so don’t play me. Y’all all would’ve got y’all awards if they didn’t frame me!”

All three of the rappers he named were nominated for a Best Rap Song Grammy Award this year. Megan Thee Stallion ultimately won with Beyoncé thanks to their Savage (Remix) collaboration.

Megan Thee Stallion’s history with Tory Lanez is a complicated one as she alleged last summer that he shot her during a dispute.

While Tory Lanez has maintained his innocence, he can’t publicly speak on the incident because he’s currently facing charges for it. Still, it looks like he’s claiming that she won the award because she allegedly framed him.
