Donald Glover Says ‘I Am Naturally Petty’ As He Reveals One Of His Albums Was Created Out Of Spite [VIDEO]

Donald Glover has no shame about being a petty person!

Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) has many talents under his belt including acting, writing, and comedy. The 38-year-old ‘Atlanta’ star recently revealed that another talent of his is being petty. During a discussion on LeBron James’ HBO series “The Shop: Uninterrupted” Donald Glover shared that he sometimes struggles with being petty. He said,

“Did you ever tap into something that you feel is kinda bad?”

“Cause like, I struggle with that. Like, I am naturally petty. Like, extremely petty.”

Glover continued and revealed that his 2016 studio album “Awaken, My Love!” was made because of his pettiness. He said,

“Awaken, My Love!” was literally cause somebody was like, ‘oh, he can’t make a hit.’ And I was like, ‘oh, not only will I make a hit [but] I won’t make a video for it.”

He added,

“[Pettniess] makes you stronger. But I also know it’s dark. It’s not something that you should be – it’s not something that should be all of that because it’s – bad.”

“Awaken, My Love!” is Glover’s 3rd studio album. The project debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 and earned Glover Grammy Award nominations for Album of the Year and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards. In addition to that, the single “Redbone” earned nominations for Record of the Year, Best R&B Song, and won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
