The stand-up star made it clear that he had his big brother’s back via Twitter. During a Q&A session of sorts, Tony said that he didn’t approve of Will’s apology. He also claimed that Sean “Diddy” Combs wasn’t being truthful when he told a source that Chris and Will had patched things up after the show. Although Tony seemed willing to set the record straight, his answers were concise.

When asked if he felt Will should be stripped of his golden statuette, he responded:
“Not my call.”

A follower mentioned Tony’s previous experience with the “Wild Wild West” rhymer and his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. They worked together on the UPN series All of Us–which the couple created and produced–from 2003 to 2007. Tony said that he’s “waiting” to hear from Will.

He hinted toward giving an official response:
“It’s coming.”

The session concluded with Tony encouraging his followers to watch Chris’s 2009 documentary, Good Hair.
“Be sure to watch ‘Good Hair’ since the narrative is now changed to all my bro does is disrespect women of color.”

Here are some honorable mentions from the 2-hour e-conference:

During the 2022 Academy Awards, Chris Rock–who hosted the ceremony–called Jada Pinkett-Smith “G.I. Jane,” a reference to her shaved head. Will Smith walked onto the stage, slapped the comedian, returned to his seat, and began shouting expletives.

It is believed that Jada was offended by the joke because she suffers from alopecia.
Less than an hour after his outburst, Will won an Oscar for his performance in King Richard.
While the Academy is reportedly reviewing the debacle, Rock declined to press charges.
