Oprah Winfrey Show – An Old Clip From Show Featuring White Woman Using N-Word Goes Viral: “If You’re Going To Say N****r, You Have To Open It To Both Races”

An old clip featuring Oprah resurfaced on social media recently and has people talking.

A clip from an old episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” is going viral due to the topic of conversation at hand: discussing if white people can say the “N-word” or not.

Oprah Winfrey

The clip, which looks dated back to the late 1980s or 1990s, opens with Oprah Winfrey asking for a white woman to speak her mind about “white n****rs and black n****rs,” which seemed tied to an earlier moment.

A woman then grabs the mic and proceeds to discuss her opinion on the matter:

“What I was saying, and I try to teach this to my children, we live in a Christian community. And looking around this room, the majority of these people seem like Christians and they seem like God-fearing people.”

“I wanna say if you’re going to say n****, which is a terrible word to me, you have to open it to both races because black people and white people are the same inside. N****r – if you wanna explain it like that, there are some of those here today, other than Oprah.”

The crowd then roars in mixed reaction, then the woman then screams in defense as Oprah looks in a confused state:

“She’s not a n****r! Sorry Oprah, I didn’t mean that!”

As we reported in 2013Oprah is not a big fan of the N-word and even said people can’t be her friend if they use it.

People on social media are going back and forth about how confusing the woman’s statements were. The user who posted the viral clip on Twitter captioned it with the question “What point was she even trying to make,” giving users room to make sense of the video.

Some users tried to see the lady’s point:

But most people did not see her point:

And reacted the way this user did:

One user caught it when she said “I try to teach my children” prior to her use of the N-word:
