Offset Sues Quality Control Amid Migos Breakup Rumors, Rapper Says Former Label Falsely Claimed His Solo Music & Pierre ‘Pee’ Thomas ‘Blackballed’ Him
Migos member Offset is taking the rap trio’s record label to court.
According to reports, rap artist Offset, born Kiari Cephus, filed a lawsuit on August 23 against hip-hop record label Quality Control Records for allegely attempting to own his solo career. In the filed documents, the 30-year-old rapper accused QC of not following through on a deal they made in January 2021.

Reportedly, the lawsuit states that Offset negotiated his solo deal and “paid handsomely” for his artist rights, but now that he’s dropped a new solo project, QC isn’t honoring the deal. The Georgia native recently released new music, his solo single titled “54321” produced by Baby Keem, which he said QC incorrectly tried to claim as its own, an action he reportedly calls “hostile.”
Shortly after his release, the rapper/songwriter teased that more solo music was on the way. According to Offset, he’s dropping another song titled “Code” featuring Moneybagg Yo this Friday (August 26). The track is set to be released on Motown Records, the label he signed with for his solo career.
Pierre “Pee” Thomas — the co-owner of QC — recently took to Twitter to speak on the suit. He said,
“The last lawsuit was filed publicly and dismissed quietly. Let’s see how this one go. Been to real for all this lame sh*t. Everyone know the real problem.”
Offset replied,
“N*ggas act like im the problem I paid millions to get my rights back N*gga you black balled me I ain’t said Sh*t one time homie I ain’t spoke to you in 2 years now I drop and you want ya name on my credit?”

As previously reported, the Migos music group that consists of Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff, sparked breakup rumors in May of this year.

Offset, Quavo, Takeoff
Quavo and Takeoff released a new song titled “Hotel Lobby” from their new project “Unc & Phew.” Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle, so the name appears to reflect this. After the pair promoted the project, Migos fans noticed that Offset, who is not on the song, was no longer following Takeoff and Quavo. Amidst the rumors of the allege split, Offset has since previewed new music.
