Gabrielle Union Hints That She’s Down To Appear In A ‘Bring It On’ Sequel
Would you want to see the original “Bring it On” cast have another cheer-off?
As you may already know, the popular film “Bring It On” initially premiered over two decades ago on August 25, 2000. Since its release, the movie has pushed out 5 spin-off films, with a new production, “Bring It On: Cheer or Die,” set to drop sometime before the end of this year.
Despite the cheer franchise having multiple installments, the original film seems to be the fan favorite. The 2000 “Bring It On” stars Kirsten Dunst as Torrance Shipman, Eliza Dushku as Missy Pantone, Jesse Bradford as Cliff Pantone, and Gabrielle Union as the iconic Isis. The film centers around two cheer teams – the Rancho Carne Toros and the East Compton Clovers – duking it out as they prepare for the national competition.
According to reports, no one from the first film has appeared in any of the spin-offs, however, it seems like that’s about to change. Recently Gabrielle Union responded to a tweet celebrating the anniversary of the first “Bring it On.” The tweet said,
“22 years ago today ‘Bring It On’ premiered in theaters”
Gabrielle Union replied and hinted where her character would be, 22 years later. She said,
“Hmmmm so Isis might have a teenager”

Following her tweet, singer/actress Chloe Bailey said she wants the role!

Actress Ryan Destiny also chimed in and said sign her up!

This isn’t the first time that Gabrielle Union has touched on returning to her cheering stomping grounds. In 2020, while speaking on a chance of an original reboot, she said,
“It’s absolutely going to happen. I think we because we all got obsessed with ‘Cheer’ on Netflix and it kind of like brought back the whole love of cheerleading, and we kinda want to see where these people would be 20 years later.”
