Cuba Gooding Jr. Completes Plea Agreement, Avoids Jail Time Following Arrest For Groping A Woman’s Breast

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. has seemingly been on his best behavior following his previous arrest.

Reports state the 54-year-old movie star was cleared of getting any jail time after his court case was resolved earlier today (October 13th), in a Manhattan courtroom. As previously reported, Cuba Gooding Jr. plead guilty back in April of this year after he was previously arrested for groping a woman’s breast at an NYC nightclub in 2019. The incident was one of three times the entertainer was accused of sexually assaulting women in Manhattan nightclubs between 2018-2019.

Due to his guilty plea, the Boyz N the Hood actor remained out of jail on a conditional plea agreement. Those conditions included remaining out of trouble as well as undergoing six months of alcohol and behavior modification counseling. Reports state that Gooding did see through all of the terms of the agreement, which lessened his misdemeanor plea – with a possible 1-year prison sentence – to a harassment violation. The actor also avoided receiving a criminal record by completing the agreement.

Gooding’s arrest in 2019 was the first time the actor had been detained for assault. A woman who was reportedly a fan of the actor told police he forcibly groped her breast without her consent after approaching him to meet him. Though her case was the first that saw the actor possibly facing criminal charges, he has reportedly been accused of similar behavior by more than 20 women. Had the case gone to trial, each accuser could’ve potentially taken the witness stand.

During the hearing, Gooding seemingly showed regret for his actions, stating:

“I apologize for ever making anybody feel inappropriately touched,”

With the completion of his plea agreement, we certainly hope the lesson has been learned!
