Meek Mill Responds To Reports That Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Plans To Give Away Most Of His Wealth To Charity: It’s More People Losing Lives To Guns & Fentanyl

Meek Mill recently shared the change he would like to see in Black communities moving forward.

On Monday morning (November 14), rapper Meek Mill let off a few tweets to his 11.4 million followers surrounding recent reports that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos plans to give away the majority of his wealth to various charities and organizations.

The tweets in question began following a post that the 58-year-old billionaire has given away $100 million to singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton, 76, which will go toward her various charities.

The Philadelphia native responded to the report and wrote,

“One day I hope somebody could donate millions to “black on black gun violence” or to fix poverty in one poverty stricken area as a experiment because it’s really fixable stuff and it’s more people losing lives then the wars they show on the news to guns and fentanyl”

In a follow-up tweet, Meek Mill, 35, added,

“And I don’t just hope for a person
from another race to fix our cultural problems either. I plan on making/raising the money to participate and stand on what I’m talking about. instagram.com/reel/Ck8luDks2…it’s not rap music it’s the environment that needs addressing music will
change”

As previously reported, Jeff Bezos recently revealed that he plans on giving away the majority of his $124 billion net worth to fight climate change and support people who can unify humanity in the face of deep social and political divisions.

Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez announced Dolly Parton as the recipient of this year’s “Bezos Courage and Civility Award.” When asked why they chose Dolly Parton, Bezos said,

“Look at what she’s done and how she’s led her life. And the way she’s done it, these bold things always with civility and kindness. She’s a unifier.”

Lauren Sanchez added,

“When you think of Dolly–look, everyone smiles, right? She is just beaming with light. And all she wants to do is bring light into other people’s worlds. And so we couldn’t have thought of someone better than to give this award to Dolly, and we know she’s going to do amazing things with it.”

Despite being the fourth-wealthiest person in the world, Bezos has refrained from setting a specific amount to give away in his lifetime. According to reports, Bezos has committed $10 billion over 10 years, or about 8% of his current net worth, to the “Bezos Earth Fund,” which Lauren Sanchez co-chairs.
