Reportedly, the incident took place during Minaj’s 2019 show in Frankfurt, Germany. If you recall the concert was much talked about after a fan appeared on stage during the rapper’s “Chun-li” performance. Documents detailing the incident reportedly read:
“[A] concert-goer breached a security barricade dividing the audience from the stage and was able to get on stage while Minaj was performing. In obtaining access to the stage, the concert-goer bypassed a female security guard stationed at the stairs leading to the stage.”
Adding:
“The concert-goer did not cause harm to any other person, nor did he damage any property during or after his limited time on stage. He simply danced on stage to the music. He did not attempt to, and did not actually, make any physical contact with Minaj while on stage.”
Subsequent the performance, Thomas Weidenmuller, head of security, says Minaj, Petty, along with a “substantial” amount of entourage were raging over the on stage breach, and approached him and the female bodyguard they felt were responsible. Reportedly, Weidenmuller stated about the incident:
“'[Minaj & entourage] were irate during this confrontation and screamed at the female security guard that she was a f*cking b*tch and accused her of having put Minaj in physical danger. During the confrontation, the female security guard was in tears and apologized to Minaj.”

Weidenmuller additionally claimed the Grammy nominated musician refused to accept the women’s apology. Instead, Minaj allegedly pulled out her phone to record the woman telling her fans she “failed to do her job and put Minaj in danger”, and threw shoes at her. As Weidenmuller claims, he then tried to intervene but was approached by Petty who, according to the suit:
“Without warning, punched Weidenmuller from the side and made contact with the right side of [his] face.”
