On Saturday (Feb. 25) rapper Gunplay’s fiancée, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, put together a GoFundMe account to receive donations to help their family financially after their newborn daughter underwent open heart surgery. The GoFundMe account has a goal of raising $50,000, with a little over $10,000 donated thus far.

After introducing their family in the biography, Vonshae Taylor-Morales briefly explained why her daughter has spent time in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. She wrote:
“February 15, 2023 will be a day our family will never forget. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl weighing 5 Ibs and 5 oz. Per protocol, my family was sent to postpartum care in the Maternity Ward for two days. Upon being discharged our daughter’s oxygen stats were off and a cardiologist was called. Unfortunately, the doctors discovered a rare heart defect called ‘Supracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venus Return.’ This affects 1 out of 10,000 babies born. As of now, there is no explanation as to how and why this defect occurs.

She continued:
“At three days old our daughter was immediately transported to a children’s hospital that had a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) to be stabilized and scheduled for open heart surgery on February 24, 2023. Upon completing the surgery the surgeon ran into a pulmonary hypertension issue with her lungs which has now left her chest open while sedated while they determine if a second surgery is needed.”
She added:
“As you can imagine, medical bills are at an all-time high even with insurance coverage. On top of basic living expenses and now her aftercare that will need to be managed for the rest of her life. We are asking for donations and prayers for our princess.”

On Monday morning (Feb. 27) Vonshae Taylor-Morales shared a photo of Gunplay, born Richard Morales Jr., holding their recovering daughter on her Instagram story. On the image she wrote:
“We can’t wait until you are back to your happy healthy self again. Let’s keep praying for my baby.”

She followed up with another image of their beautiful daughter alongside a stuffed rabbit with a shirt that read “Jesus Loves Me.”

Gunplay’s, 43, fiancée then shared the link to her daughter’s GoFundMe page with her 50,000 Instagram followers.
