R. Kelly’s Ex-Girlfriend Azriel Clary Seemingly Responds To Allegations That Her Mother Groomed Her To Date The Singer When She Was A Minor: ‘Spare Us Both The Fake Love’

Azriel Clary has seemingly responded to the serious allegations that her mother “pimped her out” to R. Kelly when she was a minor.

Many social media users are currently searching for clarification after disturbing text messages allegedly between R. Kelly’s former girlfriend Azriel Clary and her mother surfaced on the internet on Monday (Apr. 10).

In the text messages, Azriel Clary’s mother, Alice Clary, reportedly told her daughter (who was allegedly 16 years old at the time) to seduce the singer if she had dreams of being famous. In one of the messages, Alice Clary allegedly advised Azriel to take her glasses off and wear her hair to the side to “put on a show.” Reportedly, she also texted:

“Dance grab his hand shimmy wiggle sit on his lap entice him…. while singing its all bout performance…. this is your chance and opportunity.”

She reportedly encouraged Azriel, who eventually became one of R. Kelly’s girlfriends, to find other ways to look “feisty” instead of wearing lipstick because it makes her look older. In addition, Azriel Clary’s mother allegedly told her daughter to be honest with the now-incarcerated singer about her young age. Alice Clary’s text message allegedly continued:

“That man ain’t trying to do nothing with you musically, he want to f*ck period cuz he like young girls… he will probably hit you up fly you to him by yourself get you there and you will have no choice but to have sex cuz he will probably tell you he ain’t giving you a return flight unless you do all kinds b.s.”

Azriel Clary initially didn’t address the criticism surrounding the text or the allegations against her mother. However, she seemingly responded to the backlash in a new post shared via her IG stories. The singer shared a post that said,

“I literally don’t do nothing for clout, analytics or views. So spare us both the fake love, I do not play dat sh*t”

You may recall that R. Kelly – born Robert Sylvester Kelly – was sentenced to 30 years in prison after a Brooklyn, New York jury found him guilty on all counts of racketeering and sex trafficking on June 29, 2022. The Grammy-Award-winning singer was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in a Chicago federal courtroom on charges of child pornography and enticement of a minor. 19 of those years will be served concurrently with the 30-year sentence from New York.

Kelly’s fans have called his incarceration unlawful after they got a hold of Alice Clary’s alleged conversation with her daughter. Some people have also questioned why the concerning texts weren’t included in the “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries. Critics of Alice Clary have shared she should also be behind bars for “pimping” her daughter out.

In 2019, Azriel spoke about her relationship with Kelly during an interview with Gayle King. At the time, Azriel defended her now-ex-boyfriend and claimed:

“You guys don’t know the truth. You guys are believing some f**king façade that our parents are saying. This is all f**king lies for money! And if you can’t see that, you’re ignorant and you’re stupid.”

However, almost two years later, Azriel revealed that Kelly allegedly had her practice her previous comments before her sit-down with Gayle King. As previously reported, she admitted that she was instructed to “be angry” during her 2019 interview where she joined Jocelyn Savage, one of R. Kelly‘s girlfriends at the time. Azriel said:

“He did his interview first. He came in and he told us to be angry and be upset… so we came in angry. I was scared because I was like ‘I don’t want the world to see me this way.’ I’m loving, I’m caring, I’m compassionate. And no one got to see that side of me.”
