Nick Cannon Supports Cancellation Of ‘Red Table Talk,’ Blames ‘Toxic’ Show For Will Smith’s Infamous Oscar Slap

Nick Cannon appears to be happy about the cancellation of “Red Table Talk.”

In a recent episode of his talk series “The Daily Cannon,” Nick Cannon shared that he’s in support of Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” being axed after Facebook Watch shut down all of its original programming. After his co-hosts enlightened listeners about the cancellation of the talk show, Nick Cannon said:

“Good.”

Nick Cannon then blamed the viral talk series for being the reason why Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars last year. 

“If there was no ‘Red Table Talk’ then he wouldn’t have slapped the sh*t out of Chris Rock.”

As previously reported, last March Will Smith hopped on stage at the Academy Awards to slap Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife’s bald head. You may be aware that Jada Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia. 

Cannon, 42, continued:

“That table was toxic.”

He also addressed the jokes made by social media users after Will Smith appeared alongside his wife for an episode where she confirmed her “entanglement” with singer August Alsina.

Cannon said:

“They made all them memes about my brother Will on that d*mn table. They didn’t need to do that.”

According to Cannon, “too much honesty can get your *ss slapped in the face.” 

He continued:

“I don’t want to know all this sh*t about y’all.”

He added:

“I just want to mind my Black own business. I don’t want to be up in everybody else’s kitchen. Keep that sh*t to y’all selves.”

As previously reported, Meta recently decided to cancel all Facebook Watch original programs. “Red Table Talk” — a five-season daytime Emmy Award-winning program — was included in the shutdown. The series was hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, 51, Willow Smith, 22, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris, 69, and was the last show to be taken off the social media site.

The show debuted on May 7, 2018, and aired its final episode in December 2022.

“Red Table Talk” released a statement on their Instagram page announcing that they’re looking for a new home. The statement read:

“We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and we are sorry to see the entire team disband. We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come. We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.”
