‘RHOM’ Star Guerdy Abraira Has Been Diagnosed w/ Breast Cancer: ‘This Process Is Definitely Intense & What I Ask Of You Is Empowerment Not Pity’

On Wednesday (May 10) “Real Housewives of Miami” star Guerdy Abraira shared that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. In a detailed message penned to her 112K IG followers, Guerdy Abraira wrote:

“In March, I found out some news about my health. I was in St. Barts having the time of my life when my doctor called me with results following a regular mammogram checkup. I have breast cancer.”

She then shared that the unexpected diagnosis is why she’s been away from her social media accounts:

“It took me a while to process it all and this is why I took a break from social media last month as many noticed. Many of you reached out to check on me and I am thankful for your caring gestures.”

 Guerdy Abraira added:

“For now I am preparing for my upcoming surgery and then will come my treatment plan. This process is definitely intense and what I ask of you is empowerment not pity.”

Manifesting her recovery, the 45-year-old ended the post with: 

“I will “guerdyfy” this cancer as I guerdyfy everything else in my life. I am lucky that this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage – it is still scary of course, but I have love and support from those around me and that alone is the fuel that I need. For those who do not get health checks regularly, I urge you to. Your life depends on it.”

Bravo fans and social media users flooded the reality star’s comment section with remarks wishing her well through her healing process. Included in the positive comments was Guerdy’s “RHOM” co-star Julia Lemigova, 50, who commented:

“we are here for you.” 

Guerdy Abraira initially joined “Real Housewives of Miami” in 2021 for the fourth season of the series. Before becoming a Bravo reality star, she married her high school sweetheart, Russell Abraira, in 2002. They share two children together.
