Young Thug’s Brother Sentenced To Nine Years In Prison For Gun Charge
Young Thug’s older brother, known as Unfoonk, is behind bars just five months after taking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case.

Reportedly, Atlanta rapper Unfoonk was arrested on a gun charge on May 4 in his hometown. He was detained during a traffic stop after officers located a firearm in his vehicle.

According to Atlanta-based reporter Michael Seiden, a judge has now revoked Unfoonk’s probation and sentenced him to over 9 years in prison for violating the terms of his YSL plea deal release. Michael Seiden tweeted,
“A judge just revoked Young Thug’s older brother’s probation and sentenced him to nine years and six months in prison after he was arrested on a gun charge during a traffic stop last month.”
He added,
“That was the balance of Quantavious Grier’s probation after he accepted the plea deal last year.”

Unfoonk, real name Quantavious Grier, was reportedly charged with firearm possession by a convicted felon and participation in a criminal street gang. He was also charged with window tint and seatbelt violations.
According to reports, Unfoonk pleaded guilty to one count of violating the state’s RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. Due to his deal, Unfoonk’s initial 12-year sentence was split into two years being commuted to time served and the other 10 years on probation.
The terms of his probation reportedly included that the rapper had to serve 750 hours of community service, maintain a 6 p.m. curfew, and can have no contact with Young Thug or others involved in the indictment.

As we previously reported, Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, 31, as well as fellow rap star Gunna and more than 20 other associates were indicted last year on RICO charges. The group is accused of carrying out a number of gang related crimes under the group YSL founded by the “Best Friend” artist. YSL, however, claims to be nothing more than a record label.
While Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, 29, was allowed to bond out late last year after entering a guilty plea, Thug remains incarcerated. He’s accused of allegedly being the ring leader in the gang activity and the judge presiding over the case reportedly feels his release will be a flight risk. Up until now, the rap star’s legal team has submitted three attempts to get bond which have all been denied.
