If you’ve ever felt bad about opting for the funds over filet mignon with Jay-Z, don’t!

Although for many, thousands in cash may seem like the obvious choice, most have argued that the wisdom you’d walk away with from a one-on-one with iconic lyricist Jay-Z would be just as valuable–if not more.
During a recent sit-down with broadcast journalist Gayle King, the music goat doubled down on the online discussion, and he admitted that he’d actually encourage people to cop the coins!
When asked about his thoughts on the viral phenomenon, the “N*ggas in Paris” legend said in the interview,
“You gotta take the money. What I’ma say?”
Jay-Z continued by expressing that the knowledge that he could offer someone is already in his lengthy, celebrated catalog. Speaking of how one could benefit from his business insight, he added:
“You got all that in the music for $10.99. [laughs] That’s a bad deal! I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal! Like, take the $500,000, go buy some albums, and listen to the albums. It’s all there!”

He then expanded on how he has incorporated his life experiences into each project throughout his noteworthy, decades-long career.
The 53-year-old concluded,
“If you piece it together and really listen to the music for the words, for what it is, it’s all there. Everything that I said was gonna happen… happened. Everything I said I wanted to do… I’ve done. And, there’s the blueprint. The blueprint, literally, to me and my life and my journey is there already.”
