Normani Slammed By Fans After She Seemingly Goes Quiet Following Announcement Of Highly-Anticipated Debut Solo Album: ‘This One Really Knows How To Waste An Opportunity’

Normani is coming…eventually.

As previously reported, On February 21, Normani quoted a post she made on X (formally called Twitter) from 2018, saying, “I have my album title y’all.” Adding to the initial post, which is almost 6 years old, the “Wild Side” artist shared a link to a new site titled “wheresthed*mnalbum.”

In a follow-up post, Normani revealed the cover art for her highly-anticipated debut solo album and the official title, writing,

“cryingg typing this rn. DOPAMINE THE ALBUM”

In the few weeks since updating the world on the status of her solo project, the celeb has seemingly gone mute. On top of wiping her Instagram clean of anything not related to “Dopamine,” Normani has also limited her time on her other social platforms, and it seems that her supporters aren’t here for the mystery. Fans of the superstar have been patiently waiting for her to release a full project since her former group Fifth Harmony parted ways in 2018.

One person recently wrote on X,

“Is the constant delay a strategy? A bad team? Sabotage? All of the above?”

Another person expressed similar sentiments, adding,

“this one really knows how to waste an opportunity”

During a recent interview, Normani opened up about how her parents’ battle with cancer played a hand in the delay of her project. Candidly sharing her thoughts after learning her mom and dad had cancer, Normani said her mindset was,

“F*ck all of this. This is bigger than the music. It’s bigger than what I’m trying to accomplish. This is life or death. All I wanted to do was be there for them.”

It’s also important to note that the 27-year-old has dropped several stand-alone singles and been featured on other big-named artists’ tunes over the years. However, her fan base is clearly hungry for more. Addressing the lack of updates surrounding “Dopamine,” a fan wrote online,

“So … she really dropped the album cover with nothing to follow up with?”
