Beyoncé has broken the internet… yet again!

Social media is in a frenzy today (Monday, April 22) after songstress Beyoncé took to her Instagram to share a step-by-step tutorial of her hair care routine.

In the nearly two-minute video, Beyoncé is captured getting her long, natural tresses washed and conditioned with products from her beauty line, Cécred.

However, while the majority of the #BeyHive were hyper-focused on the length of the Renaissance phenomenon’s mane and how she’s maintained her signature blonde, most were taken by the personable voiceover Beyoncé recorded for the now-viral ad.

Documenting the styling process as she offered an up-close look at her hair, she said,

“The stigma and misconception is that people that wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair. That’s some bullsh*t ’cause it ain’t nobody’s business. I’ll get back to my hair!”

Further into the talked-about clip, Beyoncé bragged about how her brand, Cécred, has played an important role in keeping her beautiful crown thriving.

She continued:

“I’ve been using these products and my hair’s never grown so long. [It has] never been so moisturized. And I’ve managed to keep my texture and my curls. Even with my hair so blonde, my hair is flourishing.”

Following the reel, which holds over 20 million views and counting, viewers flooded the internet with various opinions.

Although many were sold on the genius of Queen Bey’s marketing tactic, others found the promotion to be offensive to Black women and only done for shock value.

A user wrote on X,

Ion like it. This Madam CJ. Walker pivot. Exploiting one of the deepest insecurities Black women have…$$$ “Us negros CAN grow long hair too!” This is why I’m having weekly conversations with my 6 year old trying to convince her she don’t need long flowing straight hair.”

Another individual also chimed in and said she was underwhelmed by Beyoncé’s wash day ritual leaving everyone in shambles.

She expressed:

“That’s all I seen when I got on my TLs this morning.. Beyoncé getting her hair washed and conditioned.. it’s so funny how y’all take regular a** sh*t and blow it up since it’s a celebrity.”

Additionally, a third X account added,

“Beyoncé hair is fake.”

To which someone else replied in agreement:

“Speak on it because u can clearly see the lace.”

Ultimately, another user concluded that they wouldn’t be partaking in the Cécred craze–regardless of how great it has Yoncé looking.

They stated,

“Idc what Beyoncé say, I’m not putting that sh*t in my hair.”
