Madonna’s Son David Banda Clarifies He’s ‘Good’ After Stating He Was Hungry After Moving From Mom’s Home
Madonna’s son David Banda has clarified his earlier statements about struggling to make ends meet after moving out of his mother’s home.
In an Instagram Story on Sunday, July 21, the 18-year-old reassured his followers, stating,
“TO ALL OF THOSE CONCERNED: My mother is very supportive of me. She has always been supportive of me. I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets, starving! Please stop worrying, everything is good.”
David Banda, who recently moved to the Bronx with his girlfriend, model Maria Atuesta, had previously described his situation as challenging.
During a recent Instagram Live, he mentioned,
“It’s lovely to experience it being nine o’clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don’t have enough money to get food and scavenging. It’s fun to be young.”
David’s statements made headlines over the weekend as he detailed his new life and financial independence. He expressed his satisfaction with his current living situation, stating,
“I love it. I’m not on my own. … But I love it.”
Despite his earlier comments, he clarified that his mother, the 65-year-old music icon, has been “very supportive” of his choices, including his move and his work teaching guitar lessons.
Amid his quest for independence, David Banda appears to be preparing for exciting endeavors. He performed and played guitar alongside Madonna during her Celebration Tour earlier this year.
In a May 2nd Instagram post, David shared that while on tour, he had the opportunity to sit in at Prince’s studio and perform on the late singer’s stage.
“One of the best experiences on this tour. Having the chance to sit in Prince’s studio and play on his stage. A true dream come true.”
