Lizzo Tells Fans She’s ‘Taking A Gap Year’ To ‘Protect My Peace’

Lizzo is ready for a long-term break.

The “Truth Hurts” singer, 36, who is currently on a getaway in Bali, announced that she’s taking some time off.

She posted a video of herself calmly standing in the rain while wearing a black one-piece swimsuit. She revealed in the caption,

“I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace”

Meanwhile, she’s living it up in Bali. Earlier in the weekend, she warned fans that she would be “posting way too many bikini pics.” In that Instagram post, she rocked a two-piece bikini with a champagne glass in hand.

Her vacation kicked off just moments before, with her sharing a set of bathing suit photos and asking fans in the caption,

“B*tch I’m in Bali! What should I do??? ??? “

Just before the summer, Lizzo opened up about her mental health, telling her fans that she’s the “happiest” she’s been in a long time after battling depression.

The Grammy winner wrote on Instagram in May,

“I’m the happiest I’ve been in 10 months. The strange thing about depression is you don’t know you’re in it until you’re out of it. I’m definitely not all the way as carefree as I used to be.. But the dark cloud that followed me every day is finally clearing up.”

Lizzo, who is also facing a harassment and assault lawsuit from her former dancer (she has denied all accusations) continued,

“My smile reaches my eyes again and that’s a win. I thought my album was finished.. but I gotta get some of these good vibes off in a banger real quick. Thanks for your patience.”
