Mielle Organics Gets Mixed Reactions After Calling Out ‘Inaccurate Statements’ Amid Criticism Over P&G Partnership
Update (Sept. 10, 2024): Mielle Organics LLC has released another statement amid continued criticism following its partnership with P&G.
On Monday, Sept. 9, the brand took to its official Instagram to address customers’ questions and concerns.
“We hear you, and we want to reassure you that our dedication to product quality and consistency remains unwavering. It is important to note that none of the negative experiences alleged have been medically confirmed as caused by our products.”
It insisted that the products are “safe,” and reiterated that “there have been no formula changes to any Mielle products since joining P&G in March 2023.”
Specifically, the Mielle Rosemary Mint Oil and Shampoo have been approved by dermatologists with “no indications of irritation or sensitization,” the company added.
“Recently there have been inaccurate statements on social media about our product safety. To clarify, no lawsuit has been filed against Mielle, and we are not involved in any active litigation.”
It clarified that “various factors” like “poor nutrition,” “stress,” and “excessive styling” can potentially cause “increased hair shedding. Mielle then urged customers to get professional advice if they are experiencing issues. It ended its statement with,
“We remain unwavering in our commitment to the beauty, care, and empowerment of Black women.”

Despite the statement, many customers took to the comments to criticize and stand by the brand. See a few reactions below:
Original Story (Sept. 8, 2024): The CEO of beauty brand Mielle is clearing up incorrect speculations about her company’s products.
Monique Rodriguez released a video statement addressing concerns about her brand’s partnership with the P&G corporation, making it clear that there have been no significant changes to her role in the business or the product’s ingredients.
In a video uploaded to her Instagram account yesterday (Saturday, September 7th) Monique Rodriguez first thanked her supporters and shared that Mielle was born from her “passion” for hair care and her desire to deliver a product for textured hair made with healthy components. Addressing concerns about her P&G deal, she stated:
“When I made the decision to partner with P&G, it was driven by my vision to take Mielle to new heights, and become a global beauty brand. That vision remains as strong as ever today,”

She continued:
“I am so grateful for the opportunities this partnership has brought us. This partnership has allowed us to expand our reach, and make a positive impact in the world. “
Going on, Monique Rodriguez highlighted a few of the achievements the company has seen since landing the partnerships. Specially, she acknowledged that Mielle is now “the first official textured hair care brand to partner with the WNBA,” and also noted that they also support HBCU athletic teams at both Howard University and Florida A&M.
Rodriguez further assured consumers that she remains 100% involved of all aspects of the business to the creation of the products to packaging, stating:
“My involvement in Mielle as the CEO still, is a personal choice.”
She also added that “there have been no formula changes” in the products, and urged people to compare today’s ingredients to the those back in 2022 before her deal with P&G was announced in January 2023. In case you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Mielle has steadily grown in popularity since being founded in 2014 and has become a favorite brand in the Black community.
However, Mielle consumers recently caused a stir online after several internet users shared videos and claimed that they experienced hair loss while using one of their growth oils, with many attributing the alleged loss of hair to the company selling to P&G.
@nico1eodeon All i USED to use was mielle and my hair was constantly breaking off and thinning around my hair line and i didnt know if it was just from stress or my health but come to find out that they changed the formula and sold the whole company to yt men… like bffr. I’ve been using batana oil recently to grow and strengthen my hair for the past few weeks and im starting to see a difference so i’ll keep yall updated! I specifically think it’s rosemary line that did this to my hair bc my hair likes the pomegranate line but not the rosemary collection?? i just wont be using any of the green line??#fyp#mielleorganics #curlyhair#hairtok#lgbtq#??#mielle
