Kendrick Lamar is back, and fans have a lot to say.

The rapper dropped a surprise track titled Watch the Party Die on Wednesday, Sept. 11, leaving listeners buzzing over its lyrical content and artwork.

The cover features a pair of beat-up black Air Force 1’s, sparking speculation that it’s a response to Drake’s Push Ups single cover, which previously poked fun at Kendrick Lamar’s shoe size, further fueling the rivalry that’s had the music world talking for months.

In the five-minute track, Kendrick Lamar, 37, references Christian rapper Lecrae, producer Terrace Martin, and seemingly takes shots at DJ Akademiks, according to some fans:

“The radio personality pushing propaganda for salary / Let me know when they turn up as a casualty.”

However, it was another line that sparked renewed talk of the Drake beef:

“Just walked that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid / It’s love but tough love, sometimes you gotta result in violence.”

Fans online were quick to weigh in, dissecting the lyrics and urging Kendrick to drop an album.

One user tweeted,

“Lyricism is back! Yeah, we need the album soon.”

Another user analyzed the lyrics even further:

“People want this to be a Drake diss so bad. If you think this is targeted at Drake please point out the precise bars and why. This one is for n***** and talking heads like AK, Chubby Vegan Mal and others. This is Kendrick closing the rap beef chapter. Lines up with no round 2.”

A third added,
