Longtime Grammy Recording Academy Member Speaks On Likelihood Of Beyoncé Or Taylor Swift Winning AOTY
Who do you want to see take home the Album Of The Year Award at the 2025 Grammys?
Voting for members of the Recording Academy is scheduled to wrap on Oct. 15 and final nominations will be announced on Nov. 8. Many hit projects dropped this year, which has artists and their fans on the edge of their seats as they wait to see who receives a nomination for Album Of The Year.
It’s highly speculated that Beyoncé and Taylor Swift will be the frontrunners for the AOTY category. Beyoncé, who dropped her critically acclaimed eighth studio album Cowboy Carter in March, is the most Grammy Award-winning artist of all time, with 32 trophies. However, she has yet to walk away with AOTY.

Taylor Swift, who released her eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department in April, has won the coveted honor four times to date: Midnights (2024), Folklore (2021), 1989 (2016), and Fearless (2010).
Speaking with Billboard about the chances of Beyoncé winning AOTY at the 2025 Grammys, a longtime Recording Academy member called the Texas native “the prohibitive favorite” due to her previous shutouts in the category. They added,
“I think that there’s a feeling in the industry, which was certainly encouraged via last year’s Grammys that [Beyoncé] has been overlooked for too long.”
Addressing Taylor Swift’s chances, They said,
“Look, [Swift] is the most popular recording artist on earth, and therefore she’s likely to win more often than not. It’s not bragging if you can back it up. [And Swift] can do it, God bless her. She should keep doing it. Maybe she’ll win album of the year several more times.”

The upcoming 67th Grammy Awards will take place Sunday, Feb. 2, live at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
