UK Rapper Yung Filly Arrested For Sexual Assault In Australia Amid Tour
Yung Filly has been arrested and charged with sexual assault while on tour in Australia.
The 29-year-old entertainer, born Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was detained in Brisbane and taken to Perth, where the alleged assault took place after a nightclub performance on September 27.
He faces four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault, and an additional count of ‘impeding a person’s breathing by applying pressure to their neck.
Prosecutors presented images of the woman’s injuries in court, while Filly confirmed his identity and acknowledged the charges. Though police argued he was a flight risk, he was granted bail under conditions to remain in Western Australia, avoid posting about the case on social media, and not contact the alleged victim.
Yung Filly’s lawyer questioned the strength of the prosecution’s case.
Originally from Colombia, Filly found fame through YouTube and BBC shows like ‘Hot Property’ and has over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
