Serena Williams Reveals She Had Surgery To Remove Huge Neck Cyst: ‘I Was Mortified’
Serena Williams is sharing her health journey after recently undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from her neck.
In a candid TikTok video showing her in a hospital bed while draining the cyst, she provided a voiceover, saying,
“One day back in May, I found this big mass on my neck. I was mortified by it, and I got tests done—everything you can imagine.”
She continued,
“Everything was negative, and it turns out I had what they called a cyst, a brachial cyst to be exact. I ended up having to get it removed. It was so big; it was the size of a grapefruit … Obviously, I went under for it, but they had to put a drain in because it was so much.”
Despite the challenges, she expressed relief, stating,
“Everything worked out, and I feel really happy to have worked with some great doctors.”
