Dr. Dre Accuses Former Therapist Of Racism As He Responds To Threat Claims

Dr. Dre is taking a stand against allegations made by his former marriage counselor, Dr. Charles Sophy.

In his lawsuit, Sophy claims that Dre sent him threatening texts and accused him of turning Dre’s children against him, prompting Sophy to seek a restraining order.

In court documents, Dre responded by admitting to using “colorful language” in some messages but firmly denied making any credible threats. He asserts that Sophy’s feelings of intimidation are rooted in racism, stating that “You’re a piece of s***” and “You f***** with the wrong one” were simply expressions of frustration.

Dre emphasized that Sophy’s claims of emotional distress are based on “racist caricatures” of Black men and questioned the connection Dr. Sophy tried to make between him and recent allegations against Diddy.

Now, Dre is asking the court to lift the temporary restraining order against him and deny any future protective orders.
