Jimmy Kimmel Fights Back Tears Over Trump’s Re-Election, Fans Rally Behind His Emotional Message
Jimmy Kimmel didn’t hold back his emotions following the news of Donald Trump’s re-election, delivering a powerful monologue that had him close to tears on #JimmyKimmelLive.
On Wednesday (Nov. 6), Jimmy took the stage and voiced his concern about the election results, saying:
“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who make this country great, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech, for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on social security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the truth, for democracy, for decency, for everyone who voted against him, and guess what—it was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too, you just don’t realize it yet.”

Fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to back Kimmel’s emotional statement, with many echoing his concerns. One user wrote,
“Jimmy has been speaking the truth for years now. Not enough listened – and too many resented it, against their own interests. Be careful what you wish for.”
Another shared,
“I’ve been holding back tears, too..This was a poignant moment, watching this episode. And Guillermo was right about @jimmykimmel having an important voice in all of this.” And another added, “They just don’t realize it yet but they will. You won’t be saved because you wore the red hat.”
