Mattel Apologizes After Mistakenly Linking Porn Site On Wicked Dolls Packaging
Mattel is issuing an apology after fans noticed that some packaging for dolls for the upcoming movie Wicked included a link to a pornographic website.
The link was supposed to go to a website for the musical, which will hit theaters in the U.S. on Nov. 22. Instead, it went to a page that only those 18 years or older could enter.
Mattel said in a statement according to multiple reports:
“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the US, which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page. We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information.”
