Saks Fifth Avenue Cancels Popular Holiday Lights Show In Apparent Cost-Cutting Move: ‘Challenging Year’
Times are hard! Manhattan’s Saks Fifth Avenue is scaling back its holiday celebrations this year, canceling its iconic light show at the flagship store for the first time in nearly two decades.
A Saks representative described the change as a “new approach” meant to highlight the architectural beauty of the historic building in its 100th year.

Instead of the traditional light spectacle, the store’s façade will be elegantly illuminated to showcase the holiday windows and emphasize the fashion Saks is known for. The decision reportedly aligns with cost-saving measures as Saks responds to a “challenging year.”
