Pharrell Says He Never Dissed Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris Endorsement: ‘I Love Taylor’
Pharrell is making it clear he never slammed Taylor Swift‘s decision to endorse Kamala Harris in the recent election.
He told GQ in the magazine’s latest cover story,
“They pit you against each other. I love Taylor. She knows that.”
He continued and addressed speculation that he had an issue with Taylor Swift:
“I bought a 1989 Taylor t-shirt online last year, and I was walking around here with it tucked into my jeans. I love her. I love people, bro. That was some right-wing troll sh*t. But I heard something the other day that made the most sense in the world: Right-wing, left-wing, all the same bird.”
Rumors that Pharrell slammed Taylor Swift’s endorsement came after she shared an Instagram post in favor of Kamala Harris. Days later he said he doesn’t “do politics” and that he was “annoyed” by celebrity endorsements.
He told The Hollywood Reporter,
“There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you.'”
