Beyoncé Named Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star Of The 21st Century
Billboard has crowned Beyoncé the Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century!
The music organization revealed the No. 1 spot on their prestigious list earlier today, December 3, acknowledging Beyoncé’s historic career marked by groundbreaking music, evolution, and cultural impact.
While Billboard noted that their No. 2 artist, Taylor Swift, led in sales and streams, they argued that Beyoncé’s legacy is defined by her unmatched influence across genres, her peerless performances, and her ability to reinvent herself while dominating the pop landscape.
From “Say My Name” to “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Beyoncé’s career has spanned genres, generations, and global milestones. She first topped the Billboard Hot 100 with Destiny’s Child in 2000, and by 2024, she scored her 12th No. 1 single—this time as a solo artist with “Texas Hold ‘Em” from her critically acclaimed Cowboy Carter album.

Some of her major career achievements highlighted by Billboard included her 32 Grammy wins,
her critically acclaimed visual album for “Lemonade,” her historic 2018 Coachella performance, as well as the formation of BeyGOOD, her charity initiative that supports social justice and global education.
Following Beyoncé and Taylor, Rihanna came in at No. 3, followed by Drake at No. 4, and Lady Gaga at No. 5.
