Lil Durk’s Father Blasts Federal Indictment, Claims His Son Is Being Targeted For Turning His Life Around

Lil Durk’s father, Dontay “Big Durk” Banks, is speaking out following his son’s October arrest on murder-for-hire charges.

Expressing frustration and suggesting there may be hidden motives behind the federal indictment, Dontay stated during a recent press interview:

“I’ll leave all legal issues to the lawyers, but as far as the family, as far as me as a father, the only thing I can say is that it’s mighty strange that once he started doing good out there—once he stayed away from all the gangbanging and dissing the dead, and turned his life around, practicing religion, doing things for the community, and bringing about peace in Chicago and throughout various cities—now he’s being indicted.”

He continued:

“Just right after the Muslim conference we had in Chicago calling for peace, now three to four days later, he’s being indicted.”

Lil Durk stands accused of orchestrating the murder of his rap rival Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson. However, his legal team is challenging key evidence, including accusations about his lyrics.

Durk’s engineer, Justin Gibson, reportedly presented evidence that the track prosecutors have against Durk was recorded months before the murder, potentially undermining the prosecution’s case.

Durk is also being linked to the shooting death of alleged gang leader Stephon Mack, though he has not been charged in connection with that case at this time.
