‘The View’ Co-Host Sunny Hostin Slams Fraud Claims Against Husband + Threatens $5 Million Countersuit Against Insurance Company
Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View” has publicly defended her husband, Dr. Emmanuel Hostin, after American Transit Insurance accused him and nearly 200 other doctors of federal insurance fraud. Hostin claims the lawsuit is a “frivolous” and “desperate” attempt by the near-bankrupt company to avoid paying for medical procedures covered by its insurance policies.
She alleges that American Transit launched a media smear campaign by leveraging her celebrity status and involving her family.
The couple has hired prominent attorney Mark Geragos and plans to countersue for $5 million, accusing the company of defamation and harassment. Dr. Hostin’s legal team, including civil RICO expert Daniel Thwaites, has claimed the lawsuit is meritless. American Transit, however, maintains that its actions are part of its legal duty to combat widespread insurance fraud in New York.
