Netflix Raises U.S. Prices Again, Including First Hike For Ad-Supported Plan
Netflix has announced price increases for its U.S. subscription plans, including the first hike for its ad-supported tier.
The Standard plan will increase by $2.50 to $17.99 per month, while the Premium tier rises by $2 to $24.99. The ad-supported plan will now cost $7.99 per month, up from $6.99. Additionally, the fee for adding an Extra Member will increase from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.
The changes were revealed alongside Netflix’s Q4 2024 earnings, which showed a record subscriber increase of 18.9 million. The company cited its ongoing investment in programming as the reason for the price adjustments. Co-CEO Greg Peters emphasized the value of the Standard With Ads plan, calling it a “highly accessible entry point.”
In 2025, Netflix forecasts revenue of up to $44.5 billion and aims to grow its advertising revenue as ad-supported memberships expand, comprising over 55% of new sign-ups in Q4.
Netflix users, are y’all surprised by the price increase?
