Florida Teen Acquitted After K*lling Mother, 2 Years After Fatally $hooting Father In Self-Defense
Collin Griffith, a Florida teen, was acquitted of murder and kidnapping after claiming self-defense in the 2024 death of his mother, Catherine Griffith.
The incident occurred after a fight at his grandmother’s home, where Collin said Catherine fell on a knife. However, a medical examiner refuted this claim, prompting murder charges. During trial, Collin’s attorney argued that he acted in self-defense, highlighting Catherine’s violent behavior, including past threats.
Catherine’s mother, Susan Detman, testified to her daughter’s unpredictability, and Collin’s lawyer suggested that Catherine might have provoked the situation, possibly seeking “suicide by son.” Collin had previously shot and killed his father in 2023 in what authorities later deemed self-defense.
He had a history of domestic disputes with his mother, including an earlier charge for battery. Despite these events, Collin was acquitted, with no convictions from either death.
Very shocking turn of events. Would you watch a doc on this situation?
