Issa Rae Cancels Sold-Out Appearance At Kennedy Center Following Trump’s Takeover
Issa Rae has canceled her sold-out event at the Kennedy Center in D.C. following the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health Secretary.

Since taking over the Kennedy Center, Donald Trump has fired its president and replaced board members with his allies. His changes have sparked resignations from Shonda Rhimes, Ben Folds, and others.

Issa released a statement addressing her decision, saying:
“Unfortunately, due to what I believe to be an infringement on the values of an institution that has faithfully celebrated artists of all backgrounds through all mediums, I’ve decided to cancel my appearance at this venue.”

While she did not directly name Kennedy or Trump in the statement, many speculate that the abrupt change of direction may have played a role in her canceling the event.

Fans who were looking forward to the event will now receive refunds.
