Once a household name for weight-loss programs, the company has struggled to stay relevant, especially with the rise of highly effective weight-loss dr*gs that have quickly gained popularity by offering a faster solution to obesity.

In an effort to stay competitive, WeightWatchers acquired the subscription-based telehealth platform Sequence in 2023 to offer obesity drug prescriptions. However, the company’s stock, which traded as high as $100 in 2018, has taken a drastic downturn in recent years, with revenue continuing to decline.
