Diddy — Potential Jurors In $ex Tr@fficking Case Asked About Celebs Like Michael B. Jordan, Kid Cudi & Kanye West
Diddy’s federal s*x trafficking trial is officially underway
On the first day of jury selection in New York, 150 potential jurors were handed a questionnaire that not only asked about their views on law enforcement and experiences with s*xual a$$ault, but also whether they recognized over 190 names. Among the names on the list were celebrities like Michael B. Jordan, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Mike Myers.
It’s unclear how most of these names relate to the case, but prosecutors reportedly believe that Kid Cudi was the target of a car b*mbing allegedly orchestrated by Diddy in 2011… around the time Kid Cudi was dating Cassie, Diddy’s longtime ex and the star witness in this trial. As for Michael B. Jordan, a source told Variety that he won’t testify, though he did go on a date with Cassie in 2015, which reportedly upset Diddy.
Other names on the list included Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child, actress Lauren London, and former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard.
As for the jurors themselves, some of their backgrounds raised concerns. One potential juror, a TV producer at HBO, is linked to the streaming platform Max, which aired ‘The Fall of Diddy’ documentary. The defense requested to have her excused, but the judge overruled the motion. Another juror admitted to liking an Instagram post mocking the baby oil seized from Diddy’s home during a federal raid. Additionally, a juror was excused due to her company’s ties to an upcoming memoir about Diddy. Several others revealed past experiences with s*xual a$$ault, though most said they could still remain impartial.
Opening arguments are expected to begin May 13.
