Rapper YNW Melly Denied Bond Again Ahead Of Double M*rder Re-Trial
Rapper YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons, was denied bond again Monday as he awaits re-trial for the 2018 m*rders of his friends, Christopher Thomas Jr. and Anthony Williams.
“The court finds no basis for release,” the judge ruled, rejecting claims from Demons’ attorneys that he’s been mistreated in custody.
Prosecutors cited “overwhelming evidence,” including phone records and ballistics. YNW Melly’s first trial ended in a mistrial in 2023. His re-trial is scheduled for September. If convicted, he could face the d*ath penalty.
