The rapper dropped Tha Carter VI, marking the sixth installment in his Carter series and his first solo album in five years. With features from #Bono, #MGK, #AndreaBocelli, #KodakBlack, and #WyclefJean, the project was expected to be a major moment… but not everyone is feeling it.

One critic didn’t hold back, tweeting,

“The Carter 6 is Lil Wayne worst album. N*gga washed. Respectfully. Bad beats, bad lyrics. Best part of the album is Big Sean’s feature.*”

Another fan came to Wayne’s defense, writing,

“People saying this project is trash or is his worst album/Carter is CRAZY! Some of y’all are never satisfied. We got BRAND NEW Wayne music and it’s legit iconic!”
