‘Love Is Blind’ Star Lydia Gonzalez Opens Up About Divorcing Milton Johnson: ‘Maybe The Internet Was Right, That He Wasn’t Ready For Marriage’

Love Is Blind star Lydia Velez Gonzalez is calling it quits.

During an appearance on AD’s What’s the Reality? podcast, Lydia revealed she filed for divorce from husband Milton Johnson after nearly three years of marriage. “It has been too much… to keep quiet. I’ve been suffering in silence,” she explained.

According to Lydia, their split wasn’t caused by just one issue but a buildup of problems over time. She recalled finding messages where Milton allegedly said another woman had “been all around this d*ck lately” and that he wanted to “f*ck her.” Lydia shared,

“My heart went to the floor. I felt betrayed and disrespected.”

The couple gave therapy a shot, but things didn’t get better. “I didn’t feel like the therapy was working,” Lydia recalled, claiming Milton began criticizing her for “cussing too much,” wearing swimsuits, and “nagging him all the time.” She said the way he treated her made her “feel small.”

Lydia pushed back on the idea that their seven-year age difference or long-distance period was to blame. She pointed to a deeper issue: a “lack of emotional availability, maturity, support and communication.” As she put it, “Maybe the internet was right, that he wasn’t ready for marriage.”

She also revealed that after asking for a divorce, Milton told her she was “too f*cking stupid and an untrustworthy person.” 

“I still love him, unfortunately, I do,” Lydia admitted. “But I’m never gonna settle for less than I deserve. I’m trying to put back the pieces that he broke.”
