Porsha Williams’ Ex Simon Guobadia Breaks Silence On Being Detained w/ ICE: ‘There Was No Coffee, No Purified Water, No Real Meat’
Simon Guobadia is opening up for the first time since his release from ICE custody, describing the four-month ordeal as a “nightmare” that left him emotionally shaken.
“I understand why people would kill themselves,” he told Us Weekly, choking back tears. “But I’m too strong to do that.”
The 61-year-old ex-husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams said he was blindsided when ICE agents boarded his plane and detained him. He was later deported to Nigeria.
Guobadia claimed he was held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day under protective custody due to his celebrity status. “They said, ‘There are people who recognize that you’re a celebrity,’” he said.
The businessman described overcrowded conditions, poor food, and a lack of communication. “There was no coffee, no purified water, and no real meat,” he recalled.
Now released, Guobadia plans to regroup in Dubai and reconnect with his children.
Are you glad that Simon was finally set free?
