Lady Gaga Calls Doechii’s Writing Skills ‘Immediately Legendary’ & Says Her Music ‘Struck Me To The Core’
Lady Gaga is singing Doechii’s praises, calling the rising star “immediately legendary” in a new British Vogue cover story.
Reflecting on their connection after Doechii presented her with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Gaga said, “You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me.” She added, “Her raw, deeply personal perspective… the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision – it struck me to the core.”
At the March awards, Doechii honored Gaga, saying, “I was considered weird, but it’s OK… Gaga wasn’t just a pop star, she was a lifeline.” She added, “Lady Gaga taught us that it was OK to be our real selves.”
Gaga, moved by the tribute, said in her acceptance speech, “Even though the world might consider a woman in her late thirties old for a pop star… I’m just getting warmed up.”
