Rep. Jasmine Crockett Accuses Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez & Sen. Bernie Sanders Of Using Their ‘Fighting Oligarchy’ Tour For Self-Promotion: ‘It’s About Them’
Rep. Jasmine Crockett is calling out Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders over their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, saying the rallies feel more like self-promotion than party unity.
“It kind of makes people be like, Oh, it’s about them, right? Instead of the team,” Crockett said during a meeting with Rep. Maxine Dexter, as reported by *The Atlantic*. Crockett, who is vying for a top role on the House Oversight Committee, added the tour “was a good idea” but ultimately served the lawmakers’ personal brands more than the Democratic Party.
When asked about her relationship with party leadership, Crockett made it clear she wanted to be seen as someone working for the team, not trying to “burn it down.”
Despite Crockett’s critiques, Ocasio-Cortez raised $9.6 million in Q1, doubling her previous record. Sanders pulled in $11.5 million in the same period.
In *The Atlantic* profile, staffers described Crockett as “a loose cannon” who “likes to talk,” though she maintains she has a “positive relationship” with AOC.
Is Crockett making good points?
