Dreka Gates Officially Files For Divorce From Kevin Gates After Nearly 10 Years Of Marriage
Kevin Gates and Dreka Gates are officially parting ways after nearly 10 years as husband and wife.
On Wednesday, Dreka filed for divorce from the Louisiana rapper, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The filing cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and lists July 10 as the date of separation.
Dreka, who once served as Kevin’s manager, is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two children, 12-year-old Islah and 11-year-old Khaza. She’s also seeking spousal support — while also asking the court to revoke its power to award any support to Kevin.
Whether the couple signed a prenuptial agreement remains unknown.
Kevin and Dreka were married in October 2015, and the filing comes just months before what would have been their 10-year wedding anniversary.
TMZ reached out to Kevin’s camp for comment, and a representative for the rapper responded, stating Kevin is “unfortunately” choosing not to comment at this time.
