Oprah Winfrey Denies Blocking Her Private Maui Road During Tsunami Evacuation: ‘Any Reports Otherwise Are False’
Oprah Winfrey is shutting down accusations that her private Maui road was closed off to fleeing residents during a tsunami evacuation.
A spokesperson for the media mogul addressed the rumors directly, telling Fox News Digital, “As soon as we heard the tsunami warnings, we contacted local law enforcement and FEMA to ensure the road was opened. Any reports otherwise are false.”

This comes after viral videos showed a man near Oprah’s gated road calling out, “C’mon Oprah, save us.”
The tsunami alert was triggered by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the east coast of Russia, prompting evacuations across parts of Hawaii. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem later confirmed that the evacuation order had been lifted, urging residents to “be careful when returning and watch out for damage.”
