Erica Banks Arrested After Allegedly Bringing Stolen Gun Through Airport Security
Rapper Erica Banks was briefly detained on Wednesday (August 6) after police say she attempted to bring a stolen firearm through airport security.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Erica Scharmane Breaux, was reportedly flying out of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport en route to Houston when she placed her carry-on purse, which had the g*n inside, on the X-ray scanner.
Authorities ran the weapon’s serial number and discovered it had been reported stolen in 2018 out of Greenville, South Carolina. Erica reportedly told officers she didn’t know the g*n was in her bag and claimed it belonged to a member of her security team, though she refused to provide a name.

She was booked into Clayton County Jail on a charge of theft by receiving stolen property and was released a few hours later. Reports indicate she’s expected to appear in court regarding the case soon.
As of now, neither Erica nor her team has publicly commented on the incident.
