Plies Salutes Black Target Boycotters As CEO Steps Down Following DEI Backlash & Decline In Sales
Plies is quite pleased with the way the Target boycott is going and he’s making sure everyone knows it.
“Dear Black Folks If U Don’t Think U Got Power Ask @Target,” the rapper tweeted after news broke that Target CEO Brian Cornell is stepping down.
His words echoed the sentiments of many who believe the company’s decision to scale back its diversity and inclusion efforts sparked backlash that hit hard.
Cornell, who led Target for 11 years, will exit his role in February 2026. He’ll be replaced by current COO Michael Fiddelke as the retailer struggles to regain its footing.
