Luigi Mangione, accused of fatally sh**ting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a #Manhattan hotel in December 2024, appeared in court today (Sept. 16) for a pre-trial hearing. Judge Gregory Carro dismissed two state terrorism charges, ruling them “legally insufficient,” but upheld the second-degree murder and weapons charges. #Mangione, 27, faces both state and federal charges, with federal prosecutors seeking the death penalty. His defense team has pleaded not guilty and is challenging the admissibility of evidence seized during his arrest.
